Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses. Deuteronomy 34:9
I have been reading Deuteronomy for 33 weeks now. As I finish that reading this morning, I look back and thank God for this important part of His Bible. It is both a lesson on why obedience to God is so critical and how much God loves us. Moses is spoken of as the greatest by God (vs.12) even as we know it was because of his sin that God did not allow him to live to enter the Promised Land. God is a big picture kind of guy. May I never judge this day only by what I see before me, but by how it fits into Gods grand scheme to bring hope and life to all people. Moses dies and Joshua steps in. The people follow Joshua and under his leadership do what “the Lord had commanded Moses.” Life goes on and I thank God for those who have gone before me to lead me to see the blessing of following God.
