June Worship Series

June 4

Numbers 11:24–30; Acts 2:1–21; John 7:37–39

Title: Work Me Out of a Job

“Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord’s People were prophets, that the Lord would put His spirit on them!”

Pentecost was not the only time the Spirit came and dwelled on God’s people.  It was not the only time even recorded in Scripture; it is not even the only time we read about today! The desire is for the Spirit to rest on all of God’s people, that we might all proclaim Jesus to the world and prophesy of his love and victory!

June 11

Psalm 8:1-9; Acts 2:14a; Acts 2:22–36; Matthew 28:16–20

Title: All Praise to You, Oh God!

“O Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth”

The creator of all things is mindful of even man. He created the heavenly beings and yet crowned man with glory and honor.  He created the sheep and oxe3n, the beasts of the field and placed under man’s feet. He created man and gave him dominion over creation. Yahweh, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Adonai, Elohim, Son of Man, Counselor, Helper, Christ, Savior, Creator, Judge, the Word, Father…all these names are declared by His creation; they are praised by what he has made and what he had redeemed!

June 18

Exodus 19:2–8; Psalm 100:1-5; Romans 5:6–15; Matthew 10:5a, Matthew 10:9–20

Title: Spirit of the Father or spirit of our fathers?

“It is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your father speaking through you.”

We are called to bear witness before governors and gentiles; we are called to tell people about Jesus. We find confidence in the words that the Lord will supply through the Spirit, not because we are so great and good. But have our fathers supplied us with those words? Have we heard from our fathers the words of God? We are called His children, God shows us His perfect fatherly love, and as parents, as fathers, we show that love to our children.

June 25

Psalm 91:1-16; Romans 6:12–23; Matthew 10:5a, 21–33

Title: No Fear

“So have no fear of them”

The world insulted and harassed Jesus, our Lord and Master; of course it will assail us even more. But do not be afraid of it. Proclaim Jesus boldly in the light of day and with volume that all can hear. There is nothing to fear, Jesus has conquered it all. We may be insulted, harmed, maligned but if we are treated that way for Jesus sake, then we celebrate.
